Prayer is not foolish.
Prayer is a very needful in a Christians life. Jesus' Disciples asked him to teach them how
to pray (see Mt. 6 and Luke 12). Even
Jesus himself (the Creator of all the universe) prayed (see Mark
Luke
1 Thessalonians 5:17 - "Pray without ceasing."
Check out these verses:
1 Chronicles 16:11 - "Seek the LORD and his
strength, seek his face continually."
Matthew 26:41 - "Watch and pray, that ye enter not
into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."
Luke 18:1 - "And he spake a parable unto them to
this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;"
Luke 21:36 - "Watch ye therefore, and pray always,
that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to
pass, and to stand before the Son of man."
Ephesians 6:18 - "Praying always with all prayer and
supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and
supplication for all saints;"
Philippians 4:6 - "Be careful for nothing; but in
every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be
made known unto God."
Colossians 4:2 - "Continue in prayer, and watch in
the same with thanksgiving;"
1 Timothy 2:8 - "I will therefore that men pray every
where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting."
Psalm 65:2 - "O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee
shall all flesh come."
Isaiah 56:7 - "Even them will I bring to my holy
mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and
their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be
called an house of prayer for all people."
Psalm 34:17 - "The righteous cry, and the LORD
heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles."
Micah 7:7 - "Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I
will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me."
We need to pray, it keeps us connected in our
relationship with Jesus Christ. It is
the way to communiate to Him, and to God.
Just as communication is vital to marriage, so is pray in our
relationship with Jesus Christ.
