Galatians 4:16
What is God's name, what is Jesus' name, and what is the
Holy Ghost's name?
I. God's name.
A. Isaiah 42:8 - "I am the LORD: that is
my name: and my glory will I not give to
another, neither my praise to graven images."
B. Exodus 15:3 - "The LORD is a man of war: the
LORD is
his name."
C. Nehemiah 9:5 - "...Stand up and bless the LORD your God for ever
and ever: and blessed by thy glorious
name..."
D. Psalm 113:3 - "From the rising of the
sun unto the going down of the same the LORD's
name is to be praised."
II. Jesus' name.
A. Matthew 1:21 - "And she shall bring
forth a son, and thou shalt call his
name JESUS: for he shall save his
people from their sins."
B. Luke 1:31 - "And, behold, thou shalt
conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS."
C. Philippians 2:9-11 - "Wherefore God also
hath highly exalted him, and given him a
name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee
should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth: And that
every tongue should confess that Jesus
Christ is Lord, to the glory of
God the Father." God gave Jesus a
name above every name, in otherwords God was the one who gave Jesus his name.
III. Holy Spirit's name.
A. John 14:26 - "But the Comforter, which
is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach
you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have
said unto you."
B. Matthew 1:20 - "[F]or that which is
conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost."
C. Luke 3:22 - "And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape
like a dove upon him..."
